Wear resistance of high-manganese steel
\ Overview of the wear-resistant materials

Metal wear-resistant materials used in the manufacture of wear-resistant parts include steel, composite steel and cast iron. High manganese steel is a long history of wear resistance material, not easy to produce plastic instability, and has quite good wear resistance, but it only in the impact load and large abrasive wear per unit pressure, produce better wear resistance than other materials. For the parts easy to wear with less impact load, non-alloy steel (carbon steel) or medium and high carbon alloy steel with low cost is widely selected at present, and certain process measures are taken to improve its wear resistance. The selection of surface hardened steel or composite steel production of parts, in the wear resistance, impact resistance and other properties have obvious advantages, can improve the service life, but the cost is higher. Wear-resistant cast iron has good wear resistance and low cost, including cold hard cast iron, white cast iron and medium manganese ductile cast iron, generally suitable for wear-resistant parts used under different working conditions.
At present, there is no systematic technical standard for wear-resistant steel, but the steel class and type of steel used to manufacturing wear-resistant parts are wide, and part of structural steel, tool steel and alloy cast iron are often used to manufacture various wear-resistant parts. In recent years, some wear-resistant special steel has also been developed. Generally according to the working conditions, wear type and material damage mechanism, to choose steel type.
