Manganese Steel (high manganese steel)
Alloy steel containing more than 10% of manganese. In 1882, he first obtained the high manganese steel of austenitic organization, and in 1883, the British Hadfield (R.A.Hadfield) obtained the patent of high manganese steel. High-manganese steel can be divided into two categories according to its different uses:
(1) Wear-resistant steel. This kind of steel contains 10%~15% manganese, and the carbon content is relatively high, generally 0.90%~1.50%, most of which are more than 1.0%. Its chemical composition is (%):
C0.90~1.50Mn10.0~15.0
Si0.30~1.0 S 0.05 P 0.10 This kind of high manganese steel is the most used, which is commonly used to make excavator shovel teeth, rolling wall and crushing wall of cone crusher, jaw crusher fork board, ball mill liner board, railway switch, plate hammer, hammer head, etc.
The cast tissue of high manganese steel is usually composed of austenite, carbide and pearlite, and sometimes contains a small amount of phosphorus co-crystals. The number of carbide is large, often appearing in a network on the grain boundary. Therefore, the high manganese steel in cast tissue is brittle and cannot be used and needs solid solution treatment. The commonly used heat treatment method is solution treatment, where the steel is heated to 1050~1100℃, insulation to eliminate the cast tissue, get single-phase austenitic tissue, then water quenching, so that the tissue is maintained to room temperature. After heat treatment, the strength, plasticity and toughness of steel are greatly improved, so this heat treatment method is also often called water toughness treatment. After heat treatment, the mechanical properties are: σ b615~1275MPa σ 0.2340~470MPa ζ15%~85% ψ 15% ~ 45% a Kl 96 ~ 294 J / cm2 HBl80~225
After solid solution treatment, there will be a small amount of undissolved carbide, which can still be used when the amount is small and meets the test standards.
