Standard Specification for Cr-Mo Alloy Steel

The temperature resistance of high chromium cast iron depends on the chromium content, carbon content and composition of other alloy elements, and it usually can tolerate high temperatures of 800℃ to 1000℃.
1. Basic introduction of high chrome cast iron
High-chromium cast iron is an alloy casting material containing more than 12% chromium, with the commonly used chromium content of 15% to 30%. It usually has the characteristics of wear resistance, corrosion resistance and high temperature, so it is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, machinery manufacturing and other fields.
2. High temperature characteristics of high chrome cast iron
The high temperature characteristics of high chromium cast iron is determined by the chromium, carbon and other elements in its alloying composition. Due to the presence of chromium, high chromium cast iron can form a dense chromium oxide layer at high temperature, thus improving the wear resistance and corrosion resistance. In addition, chromium can also improve the high temperature mechanical properties of high chromium cast iron, so that it still has a high yield point and strength in the high temperature environment.
However, the high temperature characteristics of high chromium cast iron has some limitations. High chromium die iron usually has low carbon content and poor plasticity; high chromium content causes high chromium die iron at high temperature. Therefore, when using high-chromium cast iron to make high-temperature parts, they need to be adjusted according to the actual situation.
3. Application of high-chromium cast iron
High chrome cast iron is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, machinery manufacturing and other fields. Among them, the most common is the wear parts at high temperature, such as flue valves, pumps, bearings, transportation pipes and so on.
In short, high chromium cast iron, as an excellent high temperature wear-resistant alloy material, has more prominent high temperature characteristics and can withstand the high temperature of 800℃ to 1000℃. However, it should be noted that the material characteristics and the actual situation should be fully considered when manufacturing with high chromium cast iron to ensure the stable operation of high chromium cast iron products.
