
1. Clarify the working environment
Temperature and corrosiveness
High temperature environment (such as metallurgical furnace, high temperature transmission equipment) should choose high temperature resistant materials, such as high chromium alloy steel (temperature resistant ≤ 800℃) or corundum ceramic (corrosion resistant and high temperature resistant).
Corrosive environment (such as chemical industry, desulfurization equipment) priority consideration for corundum ceramic or composite wear-resistant lining (including corrosion resistant coating).
Impact strength and wear type
High impact conditions (such as mining crushers) are suitable for high manganese steel (Mn13/Mn13Cr2) or composite liners (impact resistant layer + wear resistant layer).
Low speed powder flushing (such as coal bin, conveying pipeline) can choose ceramic lining or polymer material (such as UHMW-PE).
2. Material selection
Material type, core characteristics, applicable scenarios, reference sources
High manganese steel is highly tough and impact resistant, but the hardness is low. It is used in mining crushers and construction machinery buckets
High chromium alloy steel with high hardness (HRC56~62), high temperature resistant for high temperature material transmission and metallurgical equipment
Alumina ceramics are high hardness (Molde 9), corrosion resistant, low friction coefficient for power coal conveying system and chemical reactor
Composite liners Multi-material composites (such as chromium carbide + steel plate) with excellent comprehensive properties for mining mills and cement vertical mills
Polymer materials are light, self-lubricating and corrosion resistant, but have poor high temperature resistance. Low speed non-impact scenarios (such as silo lining)
3. Structural parameter design
Thickness and size
The thickness should balance wear resistance and equipment space limitation: high chromium alloy steel of more than 20mm is selected for high impact scenarios, and 5~10mm ceramic liner is used for powder flushing scenarios.
The size should be in line with the equipment structure to avoid material leakage caused by installation gap.
Shape adaptability
Alien equipment (such as screw conveyor) preferentially choose custom cut ceramic plate or polymer liner.
Installation and maintenance

Bolt fixing: easy to replace, suitable for mine crusher liner.
Welding/bonding: Suitable for high temperature or sealing requirements (such as chemical pipelines).
Maintenance costs
Ceramic liners are low maintenance but complex to install, and alloy steel needs regular inspection for wear.
