The grate plate is widely used by cast steel material, which is mainly determined by its comprehensive performance and industrial demand compatibility. The specific reasons are as follows:
Excellent high temperature resistance
The grate plate needs to withstand the high temperature combustion environment for a long time. Cast steel contains moderate carbon content (usually less than 2%) and can add alloy elements such as chromium and molybdenum, which significantly improves the strength and stability at high temperature and avoids deformation or failure at high temperature.
High strength and toughness balance
By adjusting the carbon content and alloy ratio, cast steel has both high tensile strength and good toughness, which can withstand complex loads such as fuel accumulation and mechanical vibration, and reduce the risk of fracture.
Wear and corrosion resistance
The surface of cast steel can be formed by heat treatment or alloying to form a dense oxide layer, which can effectively resist the wear and chemical corrosion of fuel ash, acid gas and other media, and prolong the service life.
Forging process adaptability
The fluidity of cast steel is better than that of cast iron, which is suitable for the complex structure required by the casting grate plate (such as ventilation gap and irregular support surface). At the same time, the dimensional accuracy can be controlled through precision casting to ensure the uniform ventilation during assembly.
Balance between economy and reliability
Compared with pure stainless steel or ceramic materials, cast steel can meet the performance requirements of most industrial scenes under the premise of controllable cost; while cast iron is cheaper, but its high temperature resistance and impact resistance are weak, which is difficult to meet the requirements of high load equipment.
In summary, the cast steel grate plate achieves the best balance between high temperature stability, mechanical durability and production cost through material properties and process advantages, so it has become the mainstream choice for boilers and industrial furnaces.
