Single small batch of production of heavy castings, is still an important method, manual modeling can adapt to a variety of complex requirements are more flexible, do not require a lot of process equipment. Can use sand type, VRH water glass sand, organic ester water glass self-hard sand, clay dry, resin self-hard sand and cement sand type; for single production of heavy casting, low cost and fast production. Mass production or long-term production of finalized products using multi-box modeling, split box modeling method is more appropriate. Although the mold, sand box began to invest high, but can be compensated from saving modeling hours and improving product quality.
Sand casting production, surface finish, material density, mechanical properties and other aspects are often poor, so when the performance requirements of the casting are higher, other casting methods should be adopted, such as melting mold (wax) casting, low pressure casting and so on.
