High-temperature components 40X24H12C40X24H12C is a high-chromium nickel austenitic-ferritic duplex heat-resistant stainless steel under the Russian GOST 977-88 standard.
Material Properties: Resistant to intergranular corrosion and high temperatures, suitable for high-temperature sulfur-containing corrosive environments. Russian standard recommends maximum operating temperature ≤1000°C. Commonly used in high-temperature equipment such as calcining furnaces operating at 850-1250°C.
Chemical Composition: Chromium (Cr) 22-26%, Nickel (Ni) 11-13%, Silicon (Si) 0.6-1.6%, Manganese (Mn) 0.3-0.8%, Sulfur (S) ≤0.03%, Phosphorus (P) ≤0.035%. This constitutes a high-alloy heat-resistant stainless steel.
Mechanical Properties: In bar form, tensile strength 491 MPa, yield strength 245 MPa, elongation 20%, reduction of area 28%. Standard heat treatment involves solution treatment at 1050°C.
Physical Properties: At 20°C, elastic modulus 1.93×10⁵ MPa, density 7800 kg/m³, resistivity 860×10⁹ Ω·m;
Operating Conditions: Prone to intergranular corrosion and carbide precipitation in high-sulfur calcining environments, which may reduce component service life;
Applications: Suitable for high-temperature components in furnaces below 2000°C, industrial heat exchangers, chemical smelting equipment, calcining furnace grates, etc.
