The waste incineration market in Southeast Asia is experiencing a boom period. However, local waste and kitchen waste account for over 60%, with a moisture content as high as 45% and a calorific value of only 1000 to 1600 kcal/kg. Moreover, industrial solid waste containing chlorine and sulfur is mixed in. This extremely high moisture and low calorific value condition is a "killer" for the lifespan of ordinary grate. We have specially developed heat-resistant and wear-resistant castings grates for Southeast Asia, with high-chromium alloy castings at the core, pushing the performance of heat resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance to the extreme, ensuring your incineration line operates stably and worry-free for ten years.
Why is it said that the material determines the service life of the grate?
The grate bars are constantly exposed to harsh conditions such as high-temperature oxidation, corrosive flue gas, and heavy loads. Even under the shielding of the ash bed, the surface temperature can reach 600 to 700°C, and in some areas, it can be even higher. Ordinary materials are prone to deformation, fracture, or rapid wear in such an environment, leading to frequent shutdowns for replacement. However, our heat-resistant and wear-resistant cast iron grate bars are entirely made of high-chromium cast steel and RTCr16 high-chromium heat-resistant cast iron (with a chromium content of 16%), which possess outstanding heat resistance, wear resistance, oxidation resistance, and resistance to chlorine and sulfur corrosion. They can maintain dimensional stability, without deformation or cracking, even at extreme temperatures of 1100°C, and their service life is significantly increased by more than 30% compared to ordinary cast iron grate bars.
Practice is the sole criterion for testing the lifespan. The operation data of the grate projects using the same series of castings are convincing:
> The Hainan Haikou project has been in operation for 2 years, with a grate plate replacement rate of less than 1.3%;
> The Rudong project has been in operation for 3 years, with zero grate plate replacements.
This means that throughout the entire project operation cycle, the maintenance cost of the grate will drop sharply, and the loss of power generation revenue caused by the replacement of grate plates will be minimized.
Grate design with better understanding of Southeast Asian waste
Heat-resistant and wear-resistant castings are not isolated but integrated into a reciprocating grate system that is highly adapted to the characteristics of waste in Southeast Asia. We adopt a three-stage grate structure, with a drop of nearly 1.3 meters between the drying section and the combustion section, and between the combustion section and the ashing section. The high-strength and high-toughness castings form the movable grate plates that reciprocate, generating a powerful turning and crushing function, completely avoiding the bridging of wet waste. In the middle of the combustion section, a cast steel shearing knife device is equipped, which automatically starts when waste lumps occur, crushing and cutting the lumps, improving ventilation, and ensuring the stable combustion of low calorific value waste, with the combustion rate increasing to over 95%.
In view of the shortage of professional operators in most areas of Southeast Asia, this grate system is equipped with an intelligent combustion control system as standard. The temperature sensor is linked with the motion mechanism, and the core algorithm is used to adjust the grate speed and air distribution in real time to achieve fully automated operation. Ordinary personnel can be trained to operate the system within 3 to 7 days. The human-machine interface supports multiple languages and can be optionally equipped with a QR code scanning function to view the operation guide, significantly reducing the difficulty of local operation.
The Long-Termism of Investment Returns: Locking in Profits with Quality
The fixed electricity price policies in Southeast Asian countries (such as Indonesia's 0.20 US dollars per kilowatt-hour for 30 years) make the power generation volume directly determine the project's revenue. Any unplanned furnace shutdown means a loss of profit. Our heat-resistant and wear-resistant castings grate, with an extremely low failure rate and an overall lifespan of over ten years, can stably control the annual downtime rate below 1%, and has an overload operation capacity of 10% to 20%, which can easily cope with the fluctuation of garbage volume during the rainy season. Even if the initial investment slightly increases, the comprehensive benefits brought by reduced maintenance, saved spare parts and guaranteed power generation volume throughout the life cycle will far exceed the price difference.
Full series coverage, modular delivery
We offer a full range of grate stoves with daily processing capacities from 5 to 500 tons, all featuring modular designs for easy installation and phased expansion, perfectly catering to the needs of towns of various sizes in Southeast Asia. Key heat-resistant and wear-resistant castings are all stocked as spare parts, and we have a central warehousing network in the Southeast Asia region to ensure that emergency spare parts can be delivered promptly, completely eliminating your worries.
