Ferritic ductile iron is a material with ferrite as its matrix. The spheroidal graphite structure in its metallographic organization reduces the matrix cleavage effect and enhances the material's toughness. This material can be produced either directly from the cast state or through annealing processes. The casting process achieves a ferrite-dominated microstructure by controlling the cooling rate and chemical composition (carbon equivalent 4.4-4.9%, silicon content 2.4-2.8%), eliminating the need for heat treatment and reducing energy consumption. The annealing process consists of two stages: high temperature (900-960℃) and low temperature (720-750℃). The high temperature stage eliminates cementite and grain boundary segregation, while the low temperature stage refines the ferrite grains.
